Charlie Stinks! There is no nice way to put it, he smells like the inside of a bin! I have kicked him out of the house into the garden because it is so offensive; currently he is playing in the garden destroying a curry-comb he stole last week. He stinks because he took himself on a little adventure yesterday and I have not had time to bath him yet.
Yesterday evening, after he had been for his second walk of the day, Charlie spotted that the garden gate had been left open. Off he shot, faster than anyone could grab him, through the gap and across the paddocks. He has a few favourite spots at my parents but obviously this day he wanted to cool down - despite the drizzle; because when he appeared back in the yard he looked like a creature from the deep. His white tummy and legs were black. The only explanation was that he must have been in the little river that runs across the back of the paddocks. It is one of those shallow, slow moving rivers (river Snail off course!) that accumulates black silty mud and Charlie loves to jump around in it getting filthy.
He didn't stay long in the yard of course, he made a brief appearence, checking in to see that we were all still there, just to disappear in the other direction. Off everyone runs trying to see where he has gone but as usual he disapears into the field of sugar beat. I swear he does this because he knows we cant see him, he is like a ninja dog; one minute you see him and then he is gone!
A few minutes later and we get a call from a neighbour in the village. Apparently he has just wandered in and helped himself to the cat food. What a treat for our lovely neighbour to find a river monster gobbling up her beloved cats dinner. To add insult to injury, when I get there to collect him, he just sits and howls at me like I have inturupted his game - it is a good job he is handsome otherwise I think we would be in a lot more trouble!

Meet Charlie
This is Charlie, affectionately known by my family a CBB. Charlie is a Beagle and of course very naughty; but despite all of his misdemeanours he is still possibly the best dog in the world!
Charlie is now one year old and already has a string of offences on his record; from destruction of property, breaking and entering, theft and disturbing the peace. I plan to populate these pages with the many adventures and misadventures that Charlie finds, and on the rare days that he actually does as he is told I have a long back-catalogue of stories from the last 10 months that we have lived together.
I hope you enjoy our stories and fall as much in love with my little lovable rogue as much as I have.
Happy Reading
Alex
